99.999% of worry has to do with tomorrow and the future.

I really believe 99.999% of worry has to do with tomorrow and the future. I looked up Matthew 6:34 in several translations and was amazed at what I found. Take a look.

Mathew 6:34 Take no thought for the morrow for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself.

Don’t worry about tomorrow – each day has enough trouble of its own.

Never worry about tomorrow.

Don’t be anxious about tomorrow. God will take care of that too. Live one day at a time.

Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard times come up when the time comes.

Jesus wasn’t giving us a suggestion when He told us not to worry about tomorrow. It’s a command.

If you’re trying to bite off tomorrow’s worries today, it’s very foolish. Because we don’t know what’s going to happen tomorrow. Sometimes we may think we do but we don’t. We were never graced to deal with tomorrow. Worrying about tomorrow will wear you out because it’s using up today’s resources on tomorrow’s problems. It’s such a waste to use today’s resources on something tomorrow that may not even happen. Yet, we’ve all done it. Don’t borrow tomorrow's problems today. Be victorious today. You’re only graced for today. If we would walk in this truth, our lives would look far different. This alone would throw out just about all the stress there is in our lives. You can’t live in yesterday either. And no amount of regret will change yesterday. But it can mess up today.

You can’t live in tomorrow because when tomorrow gets here, it will be today. You’ve never lived in any other day than today. You can’t change tomorrow by worrying about tomorrow. No one has ever changed tomorrow by worrying about it. However, you can completely ruin today by worrying about tomorrow, when all the time, you could have been enjoying today.

What if something terrible or big happens tomorrow? What if I get laid off or my car breaks down or everyone quits at my job and I’ll have to cover them? What if, what if, what if? Will God be there tomorrow? Yes! Well then, we’ll deal with it when the time comes. God will be there. But why mess up today? We’re having a good day today. There are no big problems we have to deal with today. Let’s have a good time! Let’s enjoy it.

Many good, church-going people are just not enjoying life. There are so many things they could be thankful for. Worrying about what they heard might happen next week has caused them to lose their joy and peace.

Corrie ten Boom said, “Worrying is carrying tomorrow's load with today's strength—carrying two days at once. It is moving into tomorrow ahead of time. Worrying doesn't empty tomorrow of its sorrow, it empties today of its strength.”

Worry empties today of our joy. The Bible says the joy of the Lord is our strength. This is how we can judge how we’re doing in our faith walk. It’s measured by your joy and peace. The more faith you have, the more joy and peace you have. Thus, the stronger you are in your spirit. If you don’t have joy and peace, you’ve been watching, talking, thinking, and listening to the wrong things and not feeding on the right things. If you’re watching something and it begins putting fear into you and then you start to lose your joy and peace, what do you need to do? TURN IT OFF. Don’t let it take the joy and peace from you. It’s giving the devil access.

On the other hand, if you’re listening or watching something that brings joy and peace to you, GET SOME MORE OF THAT. Listen to it again and again. Your joy will get stronger. Just feed on it. It’s impossible to overdose on it.

Remember, there is ALWAYS HOPE!

Love, Kelly
